International Breweries, IBL, has introduced a new stout lager under the iconic Trophy label. The new stout lager product was introduced to the market only few weeks ago. The longstanding brewer based in Ilesa ,Osun state has produced Trophy lager beer, for the Nigerian market, for well over 40 years, since 1978.
Trophy Stout was introduced into the country’s beer market in April under the Covid19 lockdown. Popular pop artiste, 2Baba is the Trophy Stout brand ambassador and plays the lead role in the brand’s latest TV advertising campaign which is currently being aired on leading TV channels in the country including Channels TV and NTA. The new brand extension was  launched with a splash in an  e-Concert by 2 Baba in April,2020.
IBL is engaged in a fierce competition for market share with beer market leader ,Nigerian Breweries and Guinness Nigeria. IBL has become a formidable player since 2018 following the merger of In Bev with SabMiller to make the world’s biggest brewer and subsequent consolidation of its brewery assets in the country – Intafact Brewery ,Pabod and IBL- under IBL.
