Those who know about the pitch say that the management of Ikeja Disco wants to create a customer-friendly public image and distance itself from the poor image of the erstwhile Power Holding Company ,PHCN Disco. Major ad agencies including Insight Communications are believed to have made presentations to the management of Ikeja Disco.

Industry analysts say that the new owners of power distribution companies are finding out that Nigerian customers are as impatient with them as the erstwhile PHCN which they replaced because of continuing power shortages. Nigerians want adequate power supply and do not want to listen to any excuses.

Therefore, the new power company owners may find themselves having to confront serious communication issues as time goes on,say industry analysts. Already, the Benin Disco owned by Vigeo Power is proving to be quick off the mark as it has begun to engage its customers in public communications. It has also designed a new logo. Other such as the Egbin Power Station in Lagos State  has come up with new livery and logos.
