In a surprise move, packaged food and nutrition giant, Nestle Nigeria has launched a new TV commercial to promote its Milo chocolate beverage. Under the onslaught of the covid19 pandemic,
Several big advertisers have been keeping their powders dry, especially as countries observe a lockdown. But Nestle Milo has launched a TV commercial for its flagship chocolate beverage last week ,perhaps timed to coincide with the easing of several weeks of social and economic lockdown last Monday, May 4,2020.
The new flick is a short 15 seconds and features football superstar, Lionel Messi starting his day with Nestle Milo .among others. A quick name flash and voice over and the flick is all over.
Nestle Milo which is the market leader in the chocolate beverage market segment yet faces a tough challenge from a number of keen rivals such as Bournvita, Ovaltine and most recently, Peak Milk which recently relaunched its ready-to-drink, Peak Choco brand product.
Already ,the country’s six weeks lockdown has adversely  impacted the brand’s marketing programme for the year.
