…dangles N10,000 flat rate per local flight
Leading domestic airline, Aero Contractors is wooing customers back with a N10,000 per flight flat rate. This is Aero’s strategy to win back many old customers which it lost during its recent messy trade dispute with its employees in March.
The strike by disgruntled staff of the airline caught many of its costumers unawares, and left thousands of them stranded either in Abuja or Lagos. Worse, the management perhaps surprised by the workers action did not react quickly enough to provide alternative arrangements for costumers holding its tickets and were ready to travel on the day of the strike which grounded all Aero flights.”Not even an apology, not to talk of offering alternative flights”, says one angry Aero customer who was en route Lagos from Abuja but was stranded by the strike in Abuja.
The Arik customer who does not want to be named had to travel by rival airline, Arik Air that same day. Apparently, Aero’s problem was Arik’s gain. But now, Aero seems to be fighting back gamely to win back its old customers. But will the N10,000 per flight carrot work?
