First Bank Plc has appointed Olayinka Ijabiyi as the new head of its Marketing and Communications Department, following the departure of its erstwhile general manager, Folake Ani-Mumuney in December,2024.
Ijabiyi would manage the bank’s marketing and communications portfolio, as Group Head Marketing and Communications, howbeit in an acting capacity.
A graduate of English Language of Ado Ekiti University ,Ijabiyi later earned a Masters degree in Public Affairs and International affairs from the University of Lagos in 2006.
He has over 20 years experience in brand management and communications spanning several industries such as banking and telecommunications.
He has worked at Etisalat Nigeria as Public relations manager and later acting Head of Corporate Communications between 2008 and 2011,He was head of Brand Strategy, Special projects and Consumer Insights and First Bank from mid 2011 to 2020.
He then was appointed Head of Brands and Stakeholder management until May,2025.
